Televet chat message

"The vet confirmed the Whistle televet's suspicion—a skin infection—and sent us away with a bottle of antibiotics. In this case, Whistle's televet service saved me a lot of money in emergency vet fees."

"And it's especially useful in the age of COVID-19, when we are sheltering at home and only venturing out when absolutely necessary."

Dr. Elizabeth Shines

Dr. Elizabeth Shines, DVM

I'm originally from Louisville, KY, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Western Kentucky University. I completed my veterinary degree in 2008 from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I've worked in general small animal practice for the past ten years.
I have a love for all pets, have fostered and found homes for 32 kittens and I have a soft spot for bully breeds. I enjoy educating pet parents about the importance of preventive care, nutrition and I have a special interest in the health management of senior pets.

Currently, I have a “tripawd” miniature poodle named Leo, a German Shepherd mix named Addie, two cats, Newton and Middleton, and a pair of chickens. I enjoy tennis, hiking and biking. I've also never met a dessert I don't like and I volunteer on a weekly basis.

Dr. Regina Watters, DVM

When Regina Watters was a child, she already knew she wanted to work with animals. She grew up on a farm and "examined" all the animals she could get her hands on. Dr. Shanda Streeter, DVM

Dr. Shanda Streeter, DVM

Dr. Streeter has been interested in unlocking mysteries. Starting with a love of archaeology and then moving on to unlocking how bodies function and heal. She started college with the intent to pursue physical therapy or medical school, but after a medical crisis with her own dog, she knew veterinary medicine was for her. Nowadays general veterinary practice presents her with new experiences and opportunities to problem solve each day.
Dr. Streeter's daily goal as a veterinarian is simply to make the lives of pets and their owners better and to end the day knowing that she made a positive difference in a pet's life and in that of the people around them.

Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, Dr. Streeter moved to Raleigh in 1999 to attended veterinary school at North Carolina State University. In 2001, she moved to Holly Springs with her husband. They love the feel of a small town just outside of a metropolitan area. She, her husband, and their two sons love basketball, music, being outdoors and embracing their fears (for example, kayaking in alligator-infested water and going over swinging bridges). Her family is rounded out by her three-legged cat (Shelby) and two dogs, (Molly and Tommy Lebron), all of whom are rescues. Dr. Streeter is passionate about tending to all pets as if they were her own and enabling every pet parent to be the best pet parent possible!

Dr. April Ward, DVM

Dr. April Ward, DVM

A high school teacher dampened Dr. Ward's dream of being a veterinarian, suggesting it was too hard, so she got a BA in sociology and a master's degree in education. She taught middle schoolers with behavioral and emotional disorders and worked as a municipal police officer, both rewarding jobs, but she still longed to work with animals. Finally, she decided to follow her dream, and after several years of hard work, she graduated from North Caroling State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Today, she lives on a small farm with her husband, six children and a crowd of animals, including six dogs, two cats, two horses, a donkey, three ducks and a flock of chickens. Dr. Ward is passionate about helping pet parents feel empowered as they navigate through all stages of their pet’s life.
